Following received from Canton of October 27th.

Begins:-

Addressed to reking No. 98, repeated to Hongkong. See Hongkong despatch to Colonial Office of arch 10th,

paragraph 4.

Flying Officer Vaughan Fowler who has been trying to organise commercial air service in South China informs me that he has been offered tentatively post of aeronautical adviser to Canton government and asks

for approval.

A six months agreement has been suggested with

possibility of extension.

He intende in any case to leave Royal Air Force

in December when his time expires.

I think that he is very suitable man for the post and is acceptance would be of advantage to British

interests. Is there any political objection?

anewor is request d.

Early

Ends.

I presume that there is no objection provided that

his activities are confined to commercial aviation.
